Casting announced for Lady Chatterley’s Lover at Crucible Theatre, Sheffield

The production opens in September before touring the UK

Full casting has been announced for Lady Chatterley's Lover at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.

Hedydd Dylan (The Shoemaker’s Holiday) will play Lady Chatterley and Jonah Russell (Of Mice and Men) play Mellors.

Phillip Breen directs the piece based on the novel by DH Lawrence, which was banned in the UK until 1960. It's a post-war story about how three people struggle to survive in a world which has been blown apart.

The cast includes Aretha Ayeh (Love Me Tender) as Mrs Flint/Mrs Bentley, Will Irvine (School for Scandal) as Michaelis/Trade Unionist/Dan Coutts, Ciaran McIntyre (All That Fall) as Sir Malcom Reid/Mr Linley, Eugene O’Hare (Cymbeline) as Sir Clifford Chatterley, David Osmond (Night Must Fall) as the Pianist, Rachel Sanders (The Romans in Britain) as Ivy Bolton and Alice Selwyn (The Village Bike) as Hilda Reid.

The production, co-produced by English Touring Theatre, opens at the Crucible Theatre on 26 September, before touring the UK to Oxford, York, Malvern, Sailsbury Brighton and Cambridge.
