Lucky Dog Theatre Productions bring Hats Off To Laurel and Hardy to The Kings Arms in Salford from 23- 24 August.

Previously staged at Brighton Fringe, this play about the world’s best-loved comedy duo is written by Philip Hutchinson and has been touring nationally since September 2013. It has also run at the Laurel & Hardy Museum in Ulverston at the Laurel & Hardy Conventions in Manchester and the International Sons Of The Desert Convention in Hollywood.

It's been half a century since Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy died and they are considered the pioneers of modern comedy and their movies have delighted generation after generation for almost 100 years.

Hats Off To Laurel And Hardy tells the truth about Arthur Stanley Jefferson (Stan) and Norvell Hardy (Ollie). It takes you from their early lives, their steady rise to international stardom, the decline of their movie careers and their phoenix-like revival on the stages of Europe.

It details their commitment to their work, the appreciation of their fans, the love of their wives and – most enduringly – their unerring devotion to each other. The show features recreated highlights from their huge canon of work, accompanied by a little singing and some questionable dancing, reflecting their talents and comedy.
