David Fleeshman's past credits include Much Ado About Nothing at the Royal Exchange, Cinderella at the Opera House among others, as well as several telveision roles. At the moment you can catch him playing the role of Arthur in War Horse at The Lowry until 20 September 2014.

What/who is your favourite:

Film?

I’m a great fan of most American Gangster movies. Goodfellas and The Godfather trilogy are high on the list but my all time favourite is Sergio Ledhe’s Once Upon A Time In America. Ennio Morricone’s music is absolutely haunting.

Place to go in Manchester?

My home – whenever I think of going back to Manchester I just long to be in my garden.

Theatre to perform in?

My all time favourite has to be the no longer existant Library Theatre Manchester where I’ve both acted and directed for more than 20 years. The Lowry now comes second, with the Royal Exchange third.

Restaurant / what would you order?

The Grill on the Edge in Alderly Edge. Wonderful steaks and great Sunday lunches.

Holiday destination?

The Maldives – my wife and I go scuba diving there regularly. However, any destination that offers good coral and scuba diving will do. I would like to get to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef one day.

Play or musical?

A difficult one this.I have no one favourite – I’ve been in so many and seen hundreds more. I like American dramas – anything by Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams, David Mamet. Musicals has to be Ghost ever since my son played the lead in the West End and on Broadway!

Actor or actress?

I think it has to be Al Pacino – I do find him magnetic on screen and have seen most of his films. I also love Christopher Walken’s quirkiness and phrasing of dialogue.
