Attended the show on 17/3/2011! An absolutely AMAZING play! Would love to see it again! The atmospheric illusions created by the lighting was superb. Extremely realistic set, accompanied with outstanding sound effects. Charlie Clements' acting was the definition of complete and utter perfection, an absolutely AMAZING actor! Paul Nicholas was good but not as convincing as Charlie.
The play was very believable and very scary at parts, and humorous where it was supposed to be! The best play I have seen in my life! The astonishing portrayal of David Filde throughout 'The Haunting Tour' is a great credit to the very wonderful Charlie Clements! Charlie was also very courteous when I met him after the show! Would love to see it back in the future! :)All in all, an absolutely amazing show, a credit to Bill Kenwright, Paul Nicholas and of course, Charlie Clements! :) - Rebecca

This play was the most frighting one I have ever seen with amazing effects but not to the point where they detract from the drama. A superb mix of scares and poignant plot and a brilliant representation of Dickens book. The set was amazingly realistic although the plastic 'glass' panes did subtract from the effect.I did notice the reflection from the lights on the windows which was a shame but didn't subtract from the performance. We went to see it with our GCSE drama group as our live theatre performance to review. Not a play for the feint hearted! - Luke Ridge - 15

Cannot agree with this comment. I saw The Haunting 14/3/2011 Theatre Royal Plymouth. I found the acting very good. The effects were very atmospheric, actually at times causing me to jump and experience goose pimples. I did not find the final scene confusing. A very enjoyable evening. - Gordon Worrall

Paul Nicholas had his back to the audience at the beginning so it was very hard to hear what he was saying. The effects were ok but it was mainly the loud speaker suddenly bursting out with music that made the audience jump rather than what was happening. Charlie Clements acted well and was more convincing than Paul Nicholas. - N. J.
