I saw the production last night(18th March). I have previously seen the London production some seven times so that is the real reason I feel ,in the way of an amateur, qualified to coment on this production. I felt exactly as Anne Morley - Priestman in that on the whole the production was most enjoyable. My only two small criticisms are one that some of the numbers seem to be sung a little too fast, and secondly a big show like this , I feel, does get shown off far better on a bigger stage. The latter is not the fault of the Theatre Royal, it is what it is at the end of the day. The first may be just me, I have to be fair and I have not seen a London production for a good twelve years and my memory may well be playing tricks on me.
However all in all I really enjoyed the show. Well done to all envolved in the production. - Simon John Crawford
