After being wowed by this show in London's West End, I felt the touring company's production to be lacklustre and in some parts weak. The ensemble perform well and the shows comedy still comes across however the leading roles were much to be desired. I found Mark Willshire (Ash) and Aimie Atkinson (Chloe)to be weak in both singing and acting, at times sounding like they were being strangled. The rest of the leading roles were adequate but no one had any spark which is overall what this boring storyline needs to come to life. And Philip Olivier, although tried, didn't put a foot right all night. What a shame.
I don't know how in comparison to West End the casting directors managed to come up with this. I can't see the tour continuing for the full run as seats were empty and the ovation was as lacklustre as the performance. - Ryan
