starstarstarstarFantastic evening of theatre - Jos Vantyler was particularly mesmerising and the rest of the cast were superb. The first half is stronger than the second but it's well worth seeing. - Jim MacS04 Nov 12
starNot only terrible, I didn't understand how on earth the Arcola could consider putting this on. Worthy, undramatic, no story to speak of, and says nothing about Hackney, London or Britain of today. What is the point? - Jeremy Vasquez Del Puta02 Nov 12
starstarstarstarstarSuperbly acted especially Jos Vantyler as the marathon dance promoter Mel Carney though with very strong ensemble acting. It incisively and vividly depicts how the piss-poor economic market meltdown in the 1920s gave rise to a slick trickster dance impresario who pisses from a great height on the dirt poor of America. - Mick Ellison21 Oct 12
starstarstarstarstarA sinister journey of Laughs, emotion and energy - all hinged on good old american cheese ! An unforgettable evening of entertaining and moving theatre. - G S05 Oct 12
