This production, performed, directed and designed by Mark Little is quite amazing. Your reviewer should go back to her day job! - Deb Skelton

I saw this show last week and am now very confused.Mark Little's performance was quite amazing. The attention to detail was fantastic and the audience just loved it, so why only 2 stars. The fact that it was hot and the reviewer was upset by this is hardly the fault of the play! Maybe she should have sat in the nude! wonder how many stars we would have given her for that? - Chris Davis

This production of 'A STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION' is the only real piece of theatre with real emotion i have seen in a long time. The 'reviewer' says that it has no storyline, which is odd, as it has an obvious storyline. I have to agree with the other readers reviews and say i think the reviewer is a bit thick. I won't say the story line here like most reviewers do because i wouldn't want to ruin it for anyone with half a brain. I urge anyone who loves real theatre and real ale to check out 'A STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION' at the cock tavern theatre. It will no disappoint... Oh, it might if you're a bit thick. - Jasper Valentine

Not only do I loathe the 'star' system of reviewing that seems to dominate these days, I am bored to death by the amount of theatre I see that is set in rooms focusing on dull relationships. Therefore I ignore the two stars you have decided to place next to the title of this wonderful production and defend this gorgeous, funny, prophetic, transporting and relevant play. Your reviewer is not just unimaginative but possibly a bit lacking in the almer mater. - Cath Farr

To whom it may concern,
As the director of A Stretch of the Imagination, one of modern literatures most brutal existential writings, I am appalled that this most difficult work so well realized by Mark Little in his performance of Monk O'Neill at The Cock Tavern should be pilloried and dismissed by one of your 'reviewers' for it's lack of story line and plot. This is a most difficult work that looks at man and woman's existence on this planet in a way that modern theatre rarely attempts. Your 'reviewer' has missed the mark. Yes, the room is hot but that is England on a hot day. This is not an air conditioned country. Your two stars that adorn this production at the top of your list is a travesty. I trust that people with half a brain and an understanding of pure theatre are not put off by your puerile review and may I suggest most strongly that you do not send this reviewer along to any productions of Beckett, Pinter, Ionesco or indeed Jack Hibberd as it seems that the modern masters of absurdism will blow her tiny mind. Your two stars is a crime against art. - Mark Little
