Hmmm..reading reviews for this show, leaves me amazed that there is such a strong response, which is great to see!
I agree with most of the the main review above, especially about the songs 'women like you'a gutsy rendition and charlie's flawless 'please can we leave this behind' this show took me by surprise as I really loved it!
but I have to pass comment on some of the musings above!
I feel the show has got four great actor/singers involved, Though I have to disagree with the overzealouse response to madalenas performance/singing, she has a powerful voice but in places its harsh, especially her top tones, and I found her dialogue a little 'ACTED' and to 'knowing' and definatly the weaker of the four, but saying that, the weaker is still along way above some of the 'perfomances' I've endured this past few years!
I have to say though, I thoroughly enjoyed this show, maybe because I've been in that situaton and can relate who knows, but its definatly got people talking about british musical theatre which can only be a good thing and for £10 Its a steal!

I disagree with this review. I saw the show at Edinburgh and I think
it's brilliant. The show reflects real life and anybody who has been in a
relationship will relate to it. The music was wonderful (I love "Easy To
Say" and "Women Like You"). All four actors are excellent, in particular
Madalena Alberto. And their voices complement each other perfectly.
Don't miss it!! - Sonia

I completely disagree with the review. I think it's a great story in which characters really show their feelings, and their fears about relationships. I love the character of Sam, performed by Madalena Alberto - SHE'S SUPERB!
If you're (or if you've been) in love, DON'T MISS OVER THE THRESHOLD! - Maria

I saw this last night, and totally agree with this review. There's some nice music and strong performances (though the east end Charlie sings with an american accent? strange) so it is worth seeing if you are interested in new writing; but another show about relationships is only worth writing if you have something really important to say. The story, about 2 couples who almost cheat but don't (?!) does not support the music, as you don't really sympathise with anyone except the [too] softly spoken scot Tom, it's mainly just one dramatic ballad after another, yet what's happened isn't really very dramatic! Having said that, there's some nice music and excellent singing, from the girls especially, and it fits the space well. Everyone seemed to have different opinions, which was good - go see and make your own mind up. - Greg
