starstarstarstarstarwe went along to this on the 17th april at the lowry. i had you tubed it before so I knew what I was getting for my money. We took our 3 and nearly half year old son and our 15 month daughter. My son loves the book has watched the dvd and knows the story inside out.We all loved it...not once did he ask who was who or ask to leave...for the whole 55 minutes he was spell bound he keeps asking can we go back. My little girl just enjoyed the music and danced and clapped and didnt cry once. If your expectig animials in furry costumes (like a disney show) then tis really isnt for you...if your after a theatre show of dancing and singing and a good introduction to childrens theatre then I would recommend this show. I think the play is based a lot on the book they read out key parts but again the book takes 5/10 minutes to read this was 55 minutes long. - gill 23 Apr 12
starCostumes terrible. very poor effort gone into the costumes. My 3 year old daughter kept asking where the mouse was all the way through. The Gruffalo was a poor effort. These characters need to resemble the characters from the Book as that is what Children relate to. I am very disappointed. The money this production must be making! Im sure the unartistic/creative mind that i possess could have come up with a far greater/impressive design. Shame on the Lowery for letting this production play on their stage!!! - Unhappy Owl!!18 Apr 12
starstarstarstarstarThis reviewer must have seen a completely different show to the one I saw. My children and I thought David Garrud was amazing and stole the show...the other cast members were also brilliant. I will definitely go and see it again. Shame on you horrible critic person. ;-) - Tasha Fox06 Dec 10
starI found this show disapointing. My little girl (2 1/2) kept asking where the mouse was as well. The mouse 'costume', pink mittens and along belt, could have been more elaborate. - Jane07 Aug 10
starstarstarI too was there today and we were very dissappointed particularly with the costumes. After about 10 minutes my son wanted to know where the mouse was? For the age range that this is aimed at the costume/characters were far too subtle. - annieshaf08 Apr 10
starMy son wanted to leave after 5 minutes, he was very upset! - Barbiegirl08 Apr 10
starstarstarstarA very unfair review - I was there and the audience loved the show. The actors gave their all and the songs were great. - Dominic Martin08 Apr 10
