Absolutley fantastic! Went as a large school booking last night as we have every year and i must say this years Aladdin show has outshon all previous years! Yes there are some blue moments but if its that bad then why are people retuning week after week, and why was the theatre filled with so much laughter? Myself and my family had a fantasic evening, Danny Addams and Clive Webb as always did themselves proud, special effects were out of this world and if i could rate 100 stars i would! cannot wait for Jack and the Beanstalk next year! :) - Linzi Carter

Special Effects Astounding, Not sure what the problem is with kicking a toy dog just to one side is :S Been to see the show 3 times already and booked to see it again next week, still cant work out how half the effects are done and every time i see the show its as fresh and professional as the last - Truly Amazing and a great Family Show : - Richie Jones

I absolutely loved the show. Can I point out that Mike Ashbey and John Charles are definitely the same person, noticeable by the complete lack of grammar. How someone can try and give this show a low score is beyond me. An absolute spectacular. - Steve Hammond

There were 14 of us in our party, the children and adults thoroughly enjoyed the pantomime. The youngest was captured by the special effects and the oldest laughed and laughed. Lovely afternoons entertainment, have booked for next year already, our 5th time. - Jill

I'm so sorry I think people are forgetting the incredible standard of the theatre royal's pantomimes. They are the best this country has to offer. Clive and Danny never fail to deliver. My little ones were transfixed and this is why we instantly booked for the next year. I am lost for words at the negative comments. Go see this show. Recommended by the 2 most excited children EVER. - Nigel Turner

Sorry Wendy reed what has my comments have to do with me leaving my real name the show was a load of rubbish my real name is john Charles so if you liked the show go luck to you I'm not from newcastle I'm from london so we have different views on
What's funny so if you think kicking a toy dog on stage is funny good luck to you or making out your having sex with a toy doll is funny nice one
If the show was in london it would not last 5 minutes so have a nice Christmas and I hope Father Christmas brings you loads of presents and lets hope it's not a dog - John Charles. Jf

P.S. Cant believe the negative comments on here, noticed none of you's left your real name - Wendy Reed

Far inferior to normal theatre royal pantos that I have seen previously with next to no storyline and unfortunately lacking the "feel good factor" present in abundance in previous productions. Good special effects and Clive and Danny great but unfortunately they slightly took over the show. I hope the theatre royal go back to the highly professional and more child friendly previous production style and increase the cast to include more actors than the Danny and Clive gang. CD - C D

Love it, the kids have been talking about it for Days...
My kids are fine after seeing the OVERSIZED Kong chain up. My little boy said " don't worry dad that big monkeys chain up"
The carpet is out of this world! John Petersworth - John Petersworth

Not the most child-friendly production that I've ever come across. Rude and vulgar in places which left a rather sour taste in my mouth. Overall, an OK show with some laughs for more mature audiences. As for parents with children, either The Child Detective Agency or The Borrowers at Northern Stage are much more suitable shows for younger audiences. - A

i went to see the panto last saturday with my wife what a load of rubbish what i couldnt understand is when one of the cast kicked a toy dog all over the stage the audience started laughing what king of example is that to young children who might now think its ok to kick animals about and then there was the gorilla that had its hands chained together why couldnt the toy gorilla just be sitting on stage with no chains on after all its not real but once againis that the impression children get thinking its normal to chain animals up any one with any brains would know if these were real animals this would be classed as cruelty to animals then there was the geni why did he have to speak with a geordie accent if this so called pantomine played anywhere in london there would be loads of empty seats and people walking dont waste you money this show is terrible - jc
