starstarstarstarstarThis pantomime is excellent - very very funny. The two ugly sisters are such a fantastic comedy act. The music and costumes can't be faulted, Mel is wicked in a good way and clearly enjoys the role. The horse and carriage was VERY impressive. Go and see it while you still have the chance. The children loved it and the adults laughed so much, it was delightful and uplifting. - Sue01 Jan 13
starstarstarstarstarJust fantastic in every way... Best show my husband and I have seen all year. Kids were totally enthrals and have been talking of nothing else since... Thank you Lyric - Becky15 Dec 12
starstarstarstarstar@excelsior - you are judging this years show on a totally different production (last years)? Clever aren't you?! This years instalment is fresh, hilarious and has been dubbed 'the Rols Royce' of London Panto by a well known critic or two. Take your trolling nonsense elsewhere please... Go see this show, we all loved it. - Chris12 Dec 12

starstarstarstarstarHilarious. I'll be honest, some of the singing wasn't up to scratch at times and sometimes you couldn't hear them, Buttons and Cinderella seemed to have lost their voices at times? Too much rehearsing? Ignoring all that, the comedy, the references to headlines, the double entendres for the adults, the "ad lib" (it happens quite often to make it seem they keep messing up). I would recommend it, having not seen a panto in many years this was a breath of fresh air and not too many "he's behind you" gags. - Dave10 Dec 12
starstarstarstarstarAmazing, awesome and wonderful. What a joy to have this panto on our doorstep every year. This year's offer is funny, clever and kept our four children aged 9-1 hooked. And the grown ups loved every minute of it. Ignore the bitter hack critics- this is pure community joy! - Hen09 Dec 12
starstarI saw the pantomimes at both the Lyric and the Hackney Empire last year. The Lyric pantomime was painful to see - it played too much to hip-hop with lots of 'Yo's' and other stupid talk. The Hackney has a tradition for pantomime production. The 2011 production was as any that I saw in the 1950s (yes, the 1950s). I was happily surprised at the high standard of the production at the Hackney and bored out of my mind at the painfully amateur one at the Lyric. Pantomime is alive and well at the Hackney Empire and gasping for talent at the Lyric. - execelsior05 Dec 12
