starstarstarstarstarVery Kander-and-Ebb like - except cleverer than Chicago. This captivating new find is both Darkly funny and chillingly incisive. Strong performances from principles and chorus, and some strong choreography. Loved it - Richard07 Dec 12
starstarstarstarWere Murdock and Rebekah Brooks invited to press night? Great show, interesting if one show a week was without mikes - Stevie04 Dec 12
starstarstarstarAnother great production. Full marks to the Arcola for trawling the musical theatre archives to find a musical with some interesting messages, a script with some bite and a great score. Interesting parallels with today’s celebrity culture. The cast were faultless and shows what a versatile actor David Bamber is. The band delivered the score with great panache. Only point of criticism was the over amplification which made it difficult to hear some of the lyrics. The cast have tremendous voices and do not need that level of amplification. - BrianF23 Nov 12
starstarstarstarSharp taunt & suspenseful with a brassy jazz score. Full report here http://www.frontrowdress.com/2012/11/the-sweet-smell-of-success-arcola.html - Front Row Dress16 Nov 12
