starstarstarstarstarIf you love 9 to 5 the movie ! and you love Dolly Parton ! you’ll love the show ! i’ve seen alot of mixed reviews ! but over all took seven of my friends, which were all in their 20’s . 4 of which had never seen the film and loved the show prompting them to see the film before. you don’t have to be a die hard dolly fan to love it ! but it helps its everything and more and generally an all round entertaining evening ! full of fun, filled energetic, show crammed with dance routines quick change sets. good era costumes. i think we expect far too much nowerday’s . I’ve personally never seen such a quick set change musical as quick as this was . To fit all the details in was amazing and the cast you could tell they loved doing what they were doing ! go see it,you wont regret it . i salute you DOLLY !!! X - kurt06 Mar 13
starstarstarA perfectly pleasant evening out but for the provinces rather than the West End I feel. Some pleasant songs from Ms Parton and, to be fair, she has not shoved in all her old hits apart from the infectious title song. The cast work hard and deliver but I feel that only the excellent Bonny Langford has the necessary West End pizzaz, why is she not playing one of the main parts?Should run 6 months like it did on Broadway if it makes London at all. - steve tetlow11 Feb 13
starstarstarstarstarThoroughly enjoyed the show! I'm always sceptical to see the touring musicals as they can be lacklustre, but I would say this is one of my all time favourite shows now! Cannot wait for it to come to the west end (please please please!!) Have been singing the songs ever since!! - Katie01 Feb 13
starstarstarstarLoved it, watched it in liverpool today. Natalie Cassidy was fantastic. Nothing wrong with the story line like other people have commented on. It's a music from a film it's not going to be the same. Go and watch it!!! - Alan and gill19 Jan 13
starIt's difficult to believe this could ever run beyond a month, even touring. The singing wasn't bad but the backing music can bouy an otherwise average performance by the leads. It feels like they try to recreate the movie and come across as far too Cabernet. It would have been better to try to revise it and have something fresher. The staging and costumes looked like a high school production with basic sets that change erratically and wigs that have skin lines that make it look like a bad horror movie. I love the movie and Dolly Parton's music, neither was enough to convince me to stay beyond the first half. Disappointing and looking tired! - David17 Dec 12
starSaw this in Edinburgh 29th october - it was dreadful - so bad we left at the interval. poor performances, busy set changes and totally uninspiring. No wonder the theatre was half empty. - Pearl30 Nov 12
starstarstarstarA bit flat on the opening number, expected quite a dramatic, energetic start, but great performances, and good comedy timing. The actress who played Dolly- totally convincing and quirky! Loved the office decor. Simply fine, but brilliant. - Louise10 Nov 12
starstarThis felt like a preview performnce. There is a disconcerting reliance on click backing tracks (which often drwon out the principles)and the scene changes are at best poor (clearly many of the cast cannot cope with the large trucks). Given the show is built on the title song, this lacks the expected eneregy to kick the show off and the whole thing is flat until the three leads get stoned, after that it gradualy builds momentum - but its not really enough to really save the show. Individually the principles deliver strong performances (with the exception of Casey who is disappointing - 'Get Out and Stay Out' being a particular low-light - poor diction, over-acting)though they struggle to build up convincing chemistry. Though quite enjoyable, it is ultimately amatuer in feel - is sloppy and ultimately rather disappointing. - Richard20 Oct 12
starstarstarstarstarI saw this on opening night and thought it was brilliant. I came away feeling uplifted after a grim week at work, made me smile throughout. Well done to the cast, I will definitely try & see it again !! - Julie Jackson19 Oct 12
starstarstarstarA great evening of entertainment and a feel good disco musical. The set is clever the dancers work hard and the choreography is excellent cheesey disco. Jackie Clunes has little if no stage presence and looks very clumbsy as a female lead. Amy Lennox has a sweet voice as Dolly Parton but again lacks the star quality needed. The one and only star is Bonnie Langford and it is worth watching just for her. Bonnie oozes stage presence and dominates every single scene she is in. Bonnie's solo song and tango number is worth the ticket price as she dances with flair passion and is far too pretty to play the under written role she is given. I don't think the musical will be that successful unless recast preferably with Bonnie as lead. I liked the show and thought the ensemble were suberb and glad to see that there are some Stars like Bonnie that could turn anything into a hit! - Warren Kelly17 Oct 12
starWas disappointed with this show. I was thinking it was going to be fun and hilarious like it says but it wasn't. Natalie Casey wasn't a very good singer and to be honest it felt cheap. I was expecting it to be cheesey, but it was too much really. There is a difference between cheesy and naff and sad to say it was naff and it was not cheap either! Am sure some people might like but it wasn't for us. Sorry to be truthfull. - Suzie17 Oct 12
starstarstarPretty much agree with everything in this review. Jackie is great but is doing her best Alison Janney impression who played the role on Broadway. Natalie is funny on TV but she continues to kill roles in stage shows. She has no warmth, innocence or femininity needed to play Judy and you feel nothing for her when it gets to her big number (Get Out and Stay Out) which is the best song in the show.... Well it was on Broadway. The show could have been much tighter - Craig17 Oct 12
