starstarstarI enjoyed Our Boys. It is both funny and crude and there are also some incredibly touching moments. Some of the characters are drawn better than others and Cian Barry and Lewis Reeves are definitely the best as soldiers Keith and Ian. For me, the most touching moment of the play is between these two as Barry's Keith cradles Reeves' Ian in his arms as he sobs after waking from another nightmare. Not always an easy play to watch but certainly worth seeing. - Paul Wallis08 Nov 12
starstarstarstarstarOur Boys is well worth seeing, partly for its many very funny moments, partly for its ability to suddenly switch mood and offer moments of genuine emotion and most of all for its excellent performances. Of particular note are Cian Barry for his tough Orangeman, whose inner demons and insecurities Cian skillfully allows us to glimpse and, especially, Lewis Reeves whose character has sustained the most severe injuries. Lewis impresses greatly in portraying a man deeply damaged physically and mentally by what has happened to him. He impresses most, however, in his ability to portray the easing of the disability throughout the recovery process. In this regard, his performance is truly remarkable. Not to be missed. - Michael Stone10 Oct 12
