There were funny scenes for sure, but they gradually reduced throughout and the play showed a more serious tone by the end. I just thought the ending fell really flat, which totally spoiled the whole thing for me, I was sat there thinking, what, is that it?! The big screen cut sequences worked quite well I thought though. All in all worth a look, but, as with other reviewers, it's a bit 'Meh' in all. - Dale

This review took the words out of my mouth - left wondering how in all the world this got as far as the stage. - Ron

This show is placed in the pantheon of meh! There is nothing to shout from the rooftops about but yet there is nothing to really criticise - its all just so average.
Four different, but the same, people in a secluded summer house in the dead of winter end up, mostly, becoming better people and thats it.
We've seen it a 100 times before and will see it 100 times again and whilst its all very well performed and polished, its missing that WOW moment. - QuincyMD

Surely worth more than 2 stars but of a standing ovation? Not the best play I've ever seen but the 1 hour 40 minutes flew by. Pleasant, funny, sad, and worth a view. Excellent first scene which had me laughing and somewhat taken aback at the same time (not everyday you see Braff actually hanging from a rope). I'm no prude but minor negataive points for them to address - Too much smoking and swearing going on. Like watching a Tarantino film. Surely you can input dialogue as opposed to provanities. Thought the sound level was low too as well. We were near the front at the Opera House and many times around me I heard people asking 'What did he say?'. - Si

I completely agree with your review, and I was beginning to think I was alone in my thoughts! All I have read is 'amazing', '5-star', 'brilliant', yet I cannot understand why. Surely not all of these people are Scrubs fanatics who are simply wooping and performing standing ovations because he is a funny american. I honestly wanted to like this play, unfortunately I thought it was dated, predictable and pretty mundane. - Bert

I absolutley love this performance.
I was expecting a comedy full of laughs and not much else, but what I got was a whole lot better. All new people is filled with not only brilliantly devised humour but also has a hard hitting Drama side to it. With the incredible Zach Braff bringing a dark warm hearted character and Eve Myles playing the perfect eccentric brit. Amittedly some of Kims lines (The Manhattan prostitute, sorry, escort) were a little un-needed and sometimes went a little too far, but they were essentially written for an American audience, who are more used to that sort of comedy. Mylon played a dark character of whom the audience couldnt decide if he was good or bad. Or if they should hate him or feel sorry for him. All in all I would reccomend this amazing work to anyone, athough i would say not suitable anyone under the age of 16. This is a brilliant example of a modern pieve of theatre. Bravo to Zach Braff. - Amber Skye

I can't disagree with your review more. The dialogue was very funny yet maintained enough power to turn the atmosphere sharp and cold in just a couple of lines. I would like to point out that the rest of the audience appeared to agree with me with a standing ovation. If you are lucky enough to get the opportunity to see this - do not miss it. - Felix
