Having traveled from Bournemouth to see the show, I was definitely not disappointed! Can't say I'm much of a Julian Clary fan but he was absolutely brilliant in this! Keith Harris was fab, and Orville adorable - it was just so magical when he flew towards the end of the show, having had upwards of 20 years of build up to the moment that he can fly, it created a simply magic and unique moment in the show - the audience was going wild! And as for the comment above about panto being a children's show - it most certainly is not (and should not) ever be aimed just at children. Panto is a show for the family and jokes that go over the kids heads is all part of the show - you'll find it in any professional panto up and down the country. I've heard worse in many other shows (example, Paul Zerdin saying 'crap' at least three times during a performance of Jack and the Beanstalk in Nottingham a few years back).

Seen on 17 Jan 12. Clary's attitude of "I really don't want to be here but I suppose it pays the bill" may entertain some but just annoyed me. This was, at best, a mediocre show. Good pantomime is normally great entertainment........ this wasn't good pantomime nor good entertainment. Felix - Felix

absolutely fabulous,Julian clary is gorgeous,handsome,hilarious, and such wonderful costumes!! Orville was heartwarming, and the whole production so worth seeing.
I was fascinated to read that Julian had done a series of programmes on the radio about Douglas Byng, and wish I hadn't missed them, he was a friend of my Fathers, and played the Dame in a Pantomime in Bournemouth in the mid 60s - Jenny Braund

We miss Matt Slack to be honest. This years show was the first time that we have all been eager for the production to end. Orville is so outdated, and Julian Clary just seemed bored. Not worth the journey and the amount we paid. - Lou Brittain

Have been going to the Panto in Plymouth now for about 10 years (all very good performances so far). Unfortunately, my 2 children and I found it quite boring and rather dull. Our favourite part was the end. Disappointing. - Amanda

It's the 3rd year we have been to panto at the theatre royal in Plymouth. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The combination of gay humour and Keith Harris with Orville, made the show unbearable for the most. - Dave Jones

I have always been a big fan of the Panto's in Plymouth and the quality. This was not up to the usual standard. Pure smut from Julian Clary, surely Panto is a childrens show? Keith Harris good but not enough interaction to keep the childen or adults happy throughout. Not the best. In fact a big disappointment. - benburgerbest
