starstarstarstarstarVery clever updating of characters - eg the rape victim feeling it was her fault, the students being a different "class" as anti-capitalists etc. Consistently challenging - well done to all! - Jane04 Sep 11
starstarstarstarWe saw 'La Boheme' with WOS last year so came to this. It was very different but excellent theatre. we are not quite sure about the electronic bits though. Julie - Julie Micklefield04 Sep 11

starstarstarstarstarmmm-reactions seem to be polarised, which is interesting. The opera is a masterpiece and this production is fascinating. It solves all the plot difficulties and makes sense of the relationships and motivations. Excellent acting and singing from all. I've seen many productions of Don G but, along with the film one set in Venice this is the most memorable. If you've never seen it before? go and have an excellent, stimulating night's theatre. - Sandy Hallett01 Sep 11
starstarstarstarI am totally confused I read your rave review following your WOS outing to this and listened to your recording of Q and As with the performers. Sounded really exciting so I bought tickets and was not disappointed - thought it was fantastic and the modern setting made it much more real - the Don really is evil but we can't help being fascinated and a bit sympathetic towards him. Very worrying! I have seen numerous versions - often sung amazingly but this had reality and bite. Thank you for drawing my attention go it. - Irene31 Aug 11
starOh my Lord. What a mess. Hideous from start to finish - if I hadn't been to an opera before I'd never go again after having seen this trash. Poor Mozart. - Justin31 Aug 11
starnothing good in this production. story, music, directing, design all a mess. - mark31 Aug 11
