I also completely disagree with this review for the same reasons everyone else has stated- the story was enchanting and the acting was spot on. I only wish I hadn't seen this first thing for my month at the fringe as nothing else came close! - Alison

I totally disagree with Michael Coveney - it seems as if he had watched a totally different show! The acting is excellent, and the cast seem to enjoy the show as much as the audience. The music, which is an integral part of the show, is superb. - Paola Tinagli

Hilarious, engaging, clever, witty and downright brilliant! For me, this was without a doubt the Best of the Fest, and I am amazed that anyone can think otherwise! I wonder whether Michael Coveney is just upset that he wasn't chosen to be Colin Syme's motorbike in the first half, and has thrown his toys from the pram? Because this show is simply brilliant, there are no two ways about it! - Alison

We actually wish to give it 4.5. The only letdown is a tedious and overlong encounter between the Devil and Prudencia at the start of the second act. But apart from that it was an inventive, enthralling and vigorous production and we heartily disagree with most of Coveney's review. Since the Asda car park in Kelso features largely we went home to England via the town. But apparently the nearest Asda is in Galashiels. We must remember not to confuse fact and fiction! - David and Vicki Campbell

Our party of 4 emerged from this performance entranced, smiling, and talking about the 'funny bits', the 'moving bits', and the more intriguing aspects to the play. The audience are involved and entertained. The acting is excellent. I completed disagree with the review by Michael Coveney above and wonder how he managed to find it quite as disappointing as his review suggests. I would recommend this performance to all, although it has already sold out at the Ghillie Dhu which is the only real disappointment. - Rachel Baker
