It's a terrific idea and it turns out to be a real hoot (rather than a bleat - SORRY!). Though I've seen the film, I don't know it well enough to get all of the references, but I got enough to enjoy it immensely. The music is surprisingly good, played with gusto by just two keyboards and percussion. The book and lyrics are very funny with lots of laugh out loud moments. It's well staged in a tiny space with tacky production values which are somehow appropriate! The ensemble is very good and the actors playing the three key roles of Hannibal, Clarice and Buffalo Bill are terrific. A real fun show that you should not miss. - Gareth James

It's a genius idea. The film is so gothically iconic, in its images, characters and dialogue, that memories of it spring fresh into your mind as each gag or number reminds you of it. It's rude, certainly, but primarily it's gleefully silly. Above all, other than the delightful quality and frequency of big laughs, it's the effort and detail and polish to the whole affair that surprise in this friendly, tiny theatre - there is even an impressive (and naughty) tribute to the ballet-dream sequence staple of musicals gone by.
A few supporting performances hadn't quite settled at the early performance I saw but they will; and there are a few issues with volume (it's a tough job singing through the glass wall of a cell); but much credit to the leads who have clearly done their homework in recreating the the voices of the originators, and in particular to Tory Ross, who carries almost every scene with a generous, masterful energy. - JonB

Completely agree with Carole! Saw this on Saturday night and had a great time. You definitely need to have seen the film and a quick catch up on DVD before hand will reap benefits! Vocally the men were weak which in such a small space is inexcusable but if the lift their game to match the wonderfully strong women the night will be superb! - SteveC
