starstarstarstarstargreat show, a bit different to the movie but still good, maybe even better! Very fast paced, fantastic music, the water scene was rubbish, it was either broken, or just rubbish, it should of been broken because if that was it they shouldn;t have put it in. Leading lady was fantastic and so was Noel Sullivan - Annabel03 Feb 09
stari'm struggling to see if the people who came up with the idea to turn this classic 80's film into a musical actually saw the original film! where do i start with how bad this was, it does not follow the films script, it has characters that don't even exist in the film, and costumes more apt for 2000 rather than 1983. the cast has been poorly chosen, the choregraphy was appalling and the true feeling and emotion of the film is completely lost. the stage version has been made into a poor tacky soft porn show. the only highlight was that there were a few good singers belting out some classic hits. this was a big big no no for a person that wanted to relive his 80's teenage years! - del tovey15 Oct 08

starstarstarstarstarwonderful high energy blast of a show! so refreshing to see a stage adaptation of a film that betters the original! the audience were loving it and everyone got up and danced at the end. Some very moving moments also. such a great night out was had by me and my friends. bravo! - Mya25 Sep 08
starstarstarstarstarPalace Theatre, Manchester. What an amazing performance by all! Alex shone with precision and elegance, a beautiful performance. I thoroughly enjoyed the ambience created in the scene after Alex's mother dies, the choreography and music weave your mind into a spiralling sense of disaster. A standing ovation on completion crowned the performance and rightfully so. Well done all! To the critics- "The eye that sees all things else sees not itself". - Jurgen11 Sep 08
starstarstarstarstarThis show was Brilliant!!! The high energy was quite incredible and I have to agree the leading lady Victoria who played Alex is totally gorgeous and sexy. I have to disagree with your score it most definitely is a 5***** - Caral Mracek10 Sep 08
starCould not disagree more with the review. There is the possibility that this could be good with a tighter book and better cast. Bernie Nolan was great and Noel was okay. best singer was the actress who played Gloria - even if she had to sing Gloria in an unimaginative script. the main issue is that the lead is not charasmatic nor a good enough dancer. Manic was underperformed and the 'water' scene was a miss. in fact the dancing was poor throughout - was the choregrapher to blame or was the cast not up to it. Shame as it could be good. - cj09 Sep 08
