Superbly staged with the audience sitting each side of a railway track used to position various sets. This device was superbly integrated into the direction of the play and was seamless. The arrival of the steam engine at the end of the first act was only bettered by it's reappearance at the end of the second act with the addition of carriages behind it too.
The cast were all excellent and if this production returns for a third year then you must go and see it. This is something the West End could never compete with. - Kev-in-york

This is a must see show for children & adults alike. A moving & humerous adaptation with the most marvelous sound & visual effects, and when the steam train first appears - well I was blown away! Be warned its very hot inside - take lots of water, but soooo worth it! - Joy Satterthwaite

This is a glorious, glorious production. It is staged at the National Railway Museum (where else?) and stars a real steam train. Being there is like being transported back a hundred years. Everything is perfect - the acting, the sets, the music, the steam.... Don't miss it. It's a unique experience and an unforgettable one. - Sue Mendus
