starstarstarstarstarI saw The Buddy Holly Story whilst it was on tour, on the offical opening night and most recently with my partner and (again) with our 5 year old. Forget 8 - 80 My son loved it and clapped, laughed, hummed and sang where and when you'd expect. LOVED IT - Don't miss it. It is an absolute MUST! From the Buddies (BOTH EXCELLENT), The Big Bopper (OUTSTANDING), Ritchie (he sure can swing those hips), The Crickets (AMAZING), The Appollo Performer (VERY FUNNY) the whole cast. Truly, Truly fantastic. Please don't miss it. - Wendy B - Wendy Beadnell16 Jan 08
starstarstarstarstarBuddy is the best musical around, it takes some beating. From start to finish it`s a toe tapping experience, with brilliant cast and musicians. Just paid a visit for the tenth time! It`s fantastic. Just loved Buddy and the Big Bopper really brings it to life. - suky17 Nov 07
starstarstarstarstarAbsolutely amazing! Been to see this 4 times now and STILL my favourite. Both Buddies are excellent, but Matt Wycliff sounds and looks more like Buddy Holly. The Crickets are awesome but for me it's Miguel Angel as Richie Valens and Lee Ormsby's excellent Bopper that make it an outstanding finale. I totally agree with all the other reader comments and urge anyone that wants a fun night out to book tickets as quick as possible! - Connor C16 Nov 07
starstarstarstarA first timer for Buddy - never got to see the previous West End production. Loved it. All the cast play at least one instrument and brought the whole atmosphere of the 50s R&R feeling to wonderful life. The funniest thing is seeing the old ladies running to the front of the theatre at the end. Hilarious! - Avril29 Aug 07
starstarstarI went to see the show on opening night and have subsequently been again. Both Matt Wycliffe and Dean Elliott in the title role are fantastic. Over the years I've seen this musical countless times, with countless casts and this bunch of acotrs/musicians are among the best that i've seen. Greg Last and Nick Sayce as the Crickets do a fantastic job and as ever when the music starts to rock you can help but tap your feet - laura19 Aug 07

starstarstarstarstarI saw an incredibly talented, very energetic and very hard working cast this evening. The show was BUDDY. I have seen the show many times over the yrs with different casts and this cast are right up there with the best of them. The show works very well at the Duchess Theatre. Special mention to Dean & Matt (our two Buddies) and the Crickets - they are all amazing. Go and see the show - you won't be disappointed. It's great to have BUDDY back in the West End. Rave On. starstarstarstarstarForget the theatre politics of the West End, this is a brilliant show with a young and talented cast! The audience thoroughly enjoy it and there is an amazing atmosphere throughout the show, particularly in the second half at Clearlake. Well done to all the actor/musicians in this, particularly the two Buddys Matthew Wycliffe and Dean Elliott and the Crickets. I've seen the show twice! The whole cast are very talented and give it their all. You must go and see it! - Joan11 Aug 07
starstarsounds a bit odd all these glowing reviews some repeated to keep up the average WOS score! I thought it was lacking in many areas and certainly no match for the orginal version that ran for years. As poor revials go this is up among them, cut down shows like this do not work - paulie10 Aug 07
starstarstarstarstarfantastic - best revival in years! a very talented cast, a truly great atmosphere - how many classics did buddy write all within 3 years - you have got to go and see it!!! - shane08 Aug 07

starthis is a watrered down version of the orginal hit show and is not in the same league. it has a new basic set smaller cast and makes you wonder wwhat all the fuss was about the first time round. But it is due to cost cutting it, what next The Sound of Music with 4 kids, Snow White with 5 dwarves or Joseph without all his brothers. If its worth reviving do it properly or do not ride on the name of the orginal - Malcolm Trueman08 Aug 07
starstarstarstarstarExcellent, brilliant show. Full of energy. Great cast. Go and see the show NOW. - Emma08 Aug 07
