starstarstarstarA joy to see such well written, performed and directed plays in an intimate studio. Well done! - Michael16 Mar 07
starstarstarstarstarThis was an evening of unexpected charm and poignancy. The three plays (one only 10 minutes long) are all moving in their own way. Mr Paradise was a lovely story of a washed-up poet who had given up on success, and persuaded his young 'groupie' that she should wait until his death to seek fame for him. In Summer at the Lake, Diana Kent was excellent as the selfish, vapid mother of the (we assume) gay son who decided he couldn't take any more. And Tell Sad Stories of The Deaths of Queens was a harsh depiction of a homosexual/transvestite, and how he was used and abused by a redneck sailor. Edward Hughes was the standout in this performance, though all were excellent. We didn't know what to expect with three previously unperformed plays; there is always the nagging worry as to why they've not been done before. I urge you all to see these. I've never yet been disappointed with Tennessee Williams, and am looking forward to Glass Menagerie, which we enjoyed some years ago with Zoe Wanamaker as Amanda. - Louise Dodds-Ely14 Mar 07
