starPoor set from Hudson. Houston underwhelming. Direction ridiculous - camp, silly big gates swinging back and forward, pneumatic lowering doors that don't go at the same time. A real air of 'Clearance' about it - sloppy, fails to mind the text, and, to add insult to injury, Timothy West, even on the second -last night, doesn't know his lines. - John Onions06 Apr 07
starstarstarSadly one of the most underpowered productions of this play I have seen in this or the Swan. Janet Suzman gives a weak-willed performance in the first half, only achieving a believable Volumnia in the second half, notably in the return to Rome scene. However William Houston is worth seeing and the rest of the cast produce a good effort. The pause before Coriolanus tells his mother what she's done in the second half is heart rending. A WARNING to anyone sitting in the balcony: you won't see much due to Richard Hudson's very badly staged scenery, causing great swathes of background action to be missed. - Greg Musson07 Mar 07
starstarstarstarI love this play and thought the production was superb - certainly the best "Coriolanus" I've ever seen. In fact I saw it twice in three days! - Alice Shortcake07 Mar 07
