starstarstarstarstarA wonderful performance from Celia Imriein this funny and dark monologueby Stewart Permutt. The first half wittily and affectionately takes us through a slice of middle England, producing real beely laughs from the audience. Permutt then turns a sombre and controversialcorner. however we get no political judgements or rhetoric, just an unbeleivable "It cant possibly happen to me" situation thrown at a real woman living in her cocooned and ordered world, wrecking so many lives. Beautifully acted, cleverly directed by Lisa Forrell and written with a touch of genius. And you can be back in the pub in 80 minutes. Perfect. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (195.93.50.14)08 Jun 03
starstarstarCelia Imrie gives a great performance in a somewhat mediocre monolouge. Imrie makes it all seem effortless as she gives us her class views on what seemed every aspect of life, this is an expert performane that deserves an award or two. As for the monlouge, well it starts off well with the talking heads lingo about, "the village", and I wont give the plot away but it tries to go into recent events with dire and quite dull results. However Imrie is excellent as is the pacy direction from Lisa Forrel, oh yes and WE MUST SAVE THE KINGS HEAD! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (80.40.0.217)05 Jun 03
