starHow dare they charge £35 for this show,it is a disgrace ,never seen such a poor cast of singers in all my life. They make the Cheeky Girls look good! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (217.34.246.45)12 Jun 03
starEnjoyed it at the Dominion and the Cambridge and gave it another go at the Vic Palace and wish I hadnt, the theatre didnt help as it is very grotty and the lack of atmostphere was amazing always a great buzz with the shows I have seen in the past, maybe because the theatre was nearly empry and the band isnt up to scratch ,the upper circle was closed. I wanted to like it but felt it was a real waste of money and Hannah waddingham is far too old to play Rizzo, she just looked ridiculous. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (152.163.253.102)01 Jun 03
starOH my Oh My ,what a poor little effort of a show. More understauydioes in this show than all the other put tegether. Avoid at all costs, they dont deserve the public to slap over to see this tired old show for what they are charging and then have the nerve to put poor quality replacements on stage. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (152.163.253.102)01 Jun 03
starstarstarstarWe went as a family to the Friday 5pm show, and like some other reviewers, we were met with 5 Understudies. You expect some with 2 performances a night, but 5? Leads (both understudied) were slightly underpowered, but overall the show and performances were betther than a lot I've seen in the West End recently. Beauty School Dropout by Teen Angel brought the house down and was on a different level from every other song. Kids loved it, and so did I.... - USER: Whatsonstage.com (194.203.103.4)28 May 03
starThe atmostphere was terrible maybe beacuse the theatre was nearly empty. Oh time to put this to bed, been gone to long and a pale imitationof its Dominion glory days. Avoid if you dont want to waste your money. People who like it really have not ever seen the show at the Dominion or a recent show in general if some of the sad messages below are to go by,maybe written by the cast??? - USER: Whatsonstage.com (152.163.253.102)28 May 03
starstarstarThe show was great - my kids fell in love with Sandy -what a stunner! - I think i fell in love with her too!!! Best singer has to go to Roger (Daniel Boys) - we want to hear more of him!!! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (62.128.211.38)27 May 03
starstarstarstarwhere has Daniel Boys been hiding??? His rendition of mooning is the best I have ever heard! What an absolute star! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (62.128.211.38)27 May 03
starstarstarstarstarEXCELLENT SHOW - AGREE WITH SOME OTHER COMMENTS THAT SOME OF THE ACTORS LACK LIFE - DANIEL BOYS AS ROGER HAS SUCH A FANTASTIC VOICE ITS WORTH PAYING JUST TO HEAR HIM SING!!! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (62.128.211.38)27 May 03
starthe show was pathetic. awful dancing, weak singing and pretty dull sets. thorough waste of money. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (199.67.203.133)22 May 03
starstarstarstarwent to see grease for the fourth time tonight very good not as good as the ones that i have seen as the guy how played Teen angel Paul burnham was brilent but not as good as Lee Latchford Evans who stole show when i went to see it before still a good show - USER: Whatsonstage.com (195.93.50.14)20 May 03
starPathetic and 6 understudies on stage who were all no better than village hall standard. A total rip off and should close NOW - USER: Whatsonstage.com (64.12.97.13)19 May 03
starstarstarstarstarAfter seeing Grease I think it's the best production yet! Sandy and Danny are great, and Daniel Boys, who plays Roger is absolutely brilliant - his voice is amazing, you should see it just to hear him sing! Its really lively and thoroughly enjoyable! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (80.225.7.5)06 May 03
starstarstarstarWell I went again on Tuesday and although I recognised very few faces in the cast from last November, it was very very good. Must say I preferred the old Jan and the old Rizzo (the sign said it was an understudy but I've heard she's actually left and may be replaced by the fabulous Hannah Waddingham, hope this is true!) but Daniel Boys as Roger is still amazing, 'Mooning' was just so good!! Still a really fun night out :D - USER: Whatsonstage.com (81.107.194.229)25 Apr 03
starstarstarstarstarYou MUST see this show! It's so cool! I may be biased cos my mate Daniel is one of the stars (anyone going to see it, he plays Roger!) but I loved it! Hopefully I'll get to go again! - USER: Whatsonstage.com05 Nov 02
starstarstarstarstarGreat - loads of fun and a great cast! - USER: Whatsonstage.com27 Oct 02
starstarGood but in parts very lifeless. This has the foundation of an excellent show if time and money were spent on doing everything up. The cast sounded great, however they couldn't pull off highschool kids. The songs are still a joy to the ears. - USER: Whatsonstage.com25 Oct 02
starstarstarstarstarAbsolutely fabulous. To see my eight year old daughter's face was worth every penny spent. The whole atmosphere was fantastic as were the cast, and most especially the conductor. - USER: Whatsonstage.com23 Oct 02
starstarstarstarstarI loved it - Grease just makes me want to dance ...alot. Caroline Sheen was great and also very lovely at the stage door. Tanya Caridias Frenchy and every one else made sure I had a great evening at the theatre. - USER: Whatsonstage.com18 Oct 02
starstarstarstarI loved it too. I saw the touring roduction a year or so back and this cast are so much better. Enthusiastic ensemble, very competent leads. Particularly liked Louise Dearman, Daniel Boys (great voices, the best "Mooning" I've heard) and I'm afraid to say Lee from Steps. - USER: Whatsonstage.com17 Oct 02
starstarstarstarstarFantastic brilent loved every second of it the one who played the Teen angel Lee Latchford Evans he is amazing when he came on every one screamed he is gourgous going tosee the show again in a few weeks time great acting by all concerned - USER: Whatsonstage.com17 Oct 02
starstarstarIt seems only those who hated this are posting reviews! The night we were there the audience generally loved it. A fun production which was well executed and some good voices. Someone has obviously taken the advice of one of your reviewers as members of the production team were in fact in the audience taking notes. Maybe this has paid off! We enjoyed it. - USER: Whatsonstage.com16 Oct 02
starOveracted and over-amplified, this production made me wonder if Rydell High was a school for retards given the median age of the "students". The sweet naievty of adolescent first encounters takes on the look of sleaze in the hands of this lot. - USER: Whatsonstage.com16 Oct 02
starReally dull and boring. This show is not what it used to be. It looks really cheap and tired. - USER: Whatsonstage.com11 Oct 02
starJust awful. I couldn't believe Terri's review. It's like a saw a completely different show and I think I saw it on the same day 27th Sept in which by the way Doody was an understudy and a pretty bad one as well. - USER: Whatsonstage.com10 Oct 02
starBoring, boring, boring... Nothing in this production reminds of the great one which opened at the Dominion 9 years ago. Apart from Sandy and a few of the girls, everybody looks bored and the male ensemble absolutely lifeless. - USER: Whatsonstage.com09 Oct 02
starDull and lifeless. Caroline Sheen, Daniel Boys and Louise Dearman give decent performances but the rest of the leads don't seem to be making an effort. The band is overamplified and drowns out the singing, and the design seems based on the idea that if you dangle enough pretty lights in front of the audience they'll be too transfixed to walk out or throw things. There's nothing incurable here and with some work it could be great, but the production team needs to sit in the audience for a night and then take the show off for a week or two while they fix the many problems they'll find. - USER: Whatsonstage.com08 Oct 02
starThe show has run out of energy, apart from a couple of performers. The sets are falling into pieces and looked really old, they should have been renewed for the West End. Total disappointment. - USER: Whatsonstage.com07 Oct 02
starThe production looks so tired. sandy and the girls are good in general but the boys not so much. Danny doesn't have a good comic timimg, Kenickie is too fat and old for the part and the male ensemble dance mechanically without much energy. - USER: Whatsonstage.com04 Oct 02
starstarstarstarstarIT GREAT I HAVE SEEN IT 4 TIMES, I USED TO LOVE CRAIG MCLACLAN, A MUST SEE SO BUT IT TODAY...... - USER: Whatsonstage.com27 Sep 02
