I have been coming to the Edinburgh Fringe for many years - and, to date, have not seen a production as cringeworthy or lacking in substance and talent as this one.
What is the point? If, as I suspect, it's all about "shock factor" - then it kind of works. The shock being that people are prepared to take part in such a dreadfully amateur, plodding script.
Notice to writers: no one is offended or shocked by gay issues any more. We just want to be entertained.
This production adds nothing to the original story - and is performed badly, the singing is dreadful - and most people afterwards were desperate to leave.
Shockingly poor. - Robert V. Adams
