James Graham's new play premieres at Theatre Royal Plymouth

James Graham's new play will premiere at the Theatre Royal Plymouth later this year as part of the venue's newly announced season.

The Angry Brigade opens on 18 September 2014 and will run until 4 October, before embarking on a tour of the country.

Graham's previous plays include This House (National Theatre) and Privacy (Donmar Warehouse).

His new play is set against a backdrop of the 1970s recession and charts the formation of an urban youth group called 'The Angry Brigade'. With their targets being MPs, embassies, police and pageant queens, an uprising is on the cards.

The production is directed by James Grieve, artistic director of Paines Plough.

Also premiering as part of the new season is Another Place by DC Moore,directed by Jo McInnes, and After Electra by April de Angelis.

The Theatre Royal will also host works transferring from the Edinburgh Finge, including Sirens directed by Alexander Devriendt, which opens at TRP on 24 November, and SmallWar by Valentijn Dhaenens, marking the First World War centenary, which opens on 2 September.

The season also includes a revival of Othello (4-11 October), TRP's collaboration with Frantic Assembly; and Carl Grose's Grand Guignol (9-18 October) plays prior to a transfer to the Southwark Playhouse.
