1st Night Photos: Rourke's Physicists party at Hospital Club

Date: 8 June 2012

The Physicists, Josie Rourke's third production at the helm of the Donmar Warehouse, opened last night. The press night party was held at The Hospital Club, a members' club in Covent Garden.

The play, by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, in a new version by Jack Thorne, is set in a Swiss insane asylum run by a hunch-backed psychiatrist (played by Sophie Thompson). It stars John Heffernan as Möbius, Paul Bhattacharjee as 'Einstein' and Justin Salinger as her trio of nuclear physicist patients.

Also appearing in the 1961 drama are Joanna Brookes, Oliver Coopersmith, Ben Hardy, Adam McNamara, Miranda Raison, John Ramm, Sophie Thompson and Obioma Ugoala.
