1st Night Photos: Stars Go Crazy at Novello

The Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park's production of Crazy for You - the 1992 Broadway musical with a book by Ken Ludwig and the music of George and Ira Gershwin - transferred to the West End's Novello Theatre last night (17 October 2011, previews from 8 October).

The entire cast of the Open Air production, including Harriet Thorpe, David Burt, Sean Palmer, Clare Foster, Kim Medcalf and Michael McKell, has transferred with the show, which includes a number of 1930s Gershwin standards such as “I Got Rhythm”, “Someone To Watch Over Me”, “Embraceable You” and “Nice Work If You Can Get It”.

An eclectic range of first night guests included Betty Boothroyd, Alison Steadman, Kacey Ainsworth, Su Pollard, Steven Berkoff, Kathy Lette, Maureen Lipman, Joan Bakewell, Fay Ripley, Sarah Lancashire, Michael Parkinson, Ian Talbot, Nickolas Grace, Honor Blackman, Esther Rantzen, Ali Bastian, Sophie Raworth, Jill Halfpenny, June Whitfield, Kay Burley, Peter Bowles, Julian Glover, Christopher Biggins, Martha Fiennes, Arlene Phillips, Brian Conley, Joseph Mydell, Alexander Armstrong and Jamie Theakston.
