1st Night Photos: Warren Plays Cool Hand in West End

The stage adaptation of Donn Pearce's 1965 novel Cool Hand Luke opened at the Aldwych Theatre last night (3 October, previews from 23 September 2011). It features the star Sky TV series Mad Dogs, Marc Warren, as the titular WWII veteran locked up for drunkenly cutting the heads off parking meters.

Famously adapted into a 1967 film directed by Stuart Rosenberg and starring Paul Newman, this new version for Novel Theatre is written by Emma Reeves and directed by Andrew Lousdon.

The cast and crew of Cool Hand LukeKacey Ainsworth, Jill Halfpenny, Eddie Marsan, Steve Marmion and Tim Treloar. The production, which also stars Lee Boardman and Lisa Eichhorn, plays a limited season until 7 January 2012.
