Date: 22 August 2011

The stars of Rhinestone Mondays - believed to be the UK’s first Country & Western compilation musical comedy - were in town last week to promote the show's forthcoming premiere on 31 August 2011 at the Mercury Theatre Colchester prior to a national tour.

Former Steps stars Faye Tozer and Ian 'H' Watkins star alongside EastendersShaun Williamson and Lyn Paul (taking a break from 13 years of playing Mrs Johnson in Blood Brothers) as members of the Warbleswick “Monday Night All Star Line Dancing Club” who fight, feud and fall in and out of love.

Written by Joe Graham and directed by Phil Wilmott, Rhinestone Mondays features a slew of Country hits including Billy Ray Cyrus’ “These Boots Are Made for Walking”, Patsy Cline’s “Crazy”, Tammy Wynette’s “Stand by Your Man”, Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”, Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Achy Breaky Heart”, Roy Rodgers’ “Happy Trails” and Glen Campbell’s “Rhinestone Cowboy”.

Great photo of Lyn Paul, she actually played the leading lady Mrs Johnstone, (not Johnson)in Blood Brothers. Rhinestone Mondays is going to be brilliant, it has a great cast most especially as Lyn Paul is in the show!!! - Phil Hughes
