1st Night Photos: Stephen Fry Flies in for Departure
Date: 1 October 2010

Following runs at the 2008 Edinburgh Festival and the Summer Play Festival in New York, Dougal Irvine's musical comedy Departure Lounge opened last night (30 September) at the new Waterloo East Theatre night for a limited run until 31 October 2010.

The musical, which is directed by Pip Minnithorpe, tells the story of four less than innocent 18-year-olds delayed at Malaga Airport after a week in the sun celebrating their graduation from school, the boy's individual memories of the holiday appear to be at odds, particularly when it comes to romance and the girl on all their minds.

The cast of Chris Fountain (Hollyoaks), Verity Rushworth (Emmerdale and Hairspray), Jack Shalloo (Hamlet the Musical, Liam Tamne (Hair and Hairspray) and Steven Webb (The Inbetweeners) were joined for their opening night by Stephen Fry and Derren Brown.
