1st Night Photos: Old Vic Designs Stellar Living

Date: 16 September 2010

Noël Coward's ménage à trois comedy Design for Living has received its first London outing in over 15 years at the Old Vic, where it opened last night (15 September 2010, previews from 3 September).

Centring on a tempestuous love triangle between a vivacious interior designer, Gilda, playwright Leo and artist Otto, the play was initially banned by British censors but finally made its London premiere in 1939.

The cast of the current revival is led by Tom Burke, Lisa Dillon and Andrew Scott, directed by attended by Old Vic associate Anthony Page.

A host of young actors joined the company to celebrate last night, including Natalie Dormer, Christian Camargo, Juliet Rylance, Sinead Matthews, Chris New, Eddie Redmayne and Andrew Scott's Sherlock nemesis, Benedict Cumberbatch.
