Winners were announced tonight (21 March 2010) in the 34th annual Laurence Olivier Awards, one of biggest and most star-studded dates in the theatrical calendar, which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London. Our Whatsonstage.com photographer Dan Wooller was on hand to capture the all of the celebrity comings and goings from the ballroom to the pressroom. This year’s Oliviers ceremony was hosted by Anthony Head. The Laurence Olivier Awards were created in 1976, then called the Society of West End Theatre Awards, to recognise excellence on the London stage. They were rebranded in 1984 when Lord Olivier agreed to have his name associated with them.
