1st Night Photos: Chocolate Factory's Got Talent
Date: 24 September 2009

Comedy legend Victoria Wood celebrated the opening night of her own revival of her 1978 'play with songs' Talent at the Menier Chocolate Factory last night (23 September 2009, previews from 17 September).

The play, which was filmed for TV in 1979 starring Wood alongside her regular collaborator Julie Walters, centres around two friends – Julie and Maureen – as they attend a talent content at fictional Manchester niteclub Bunter's.

The production, first seen earlier this month at the Old Laundry Theatre in Bowness-on-Windermere, stars Leanne Rowe (most recently seen in Dirty Dancing) and [Suzie Toase (See Our Interview, 21 Sep 2009) as Julie and Maureen, alongside Jeffrey Holland, Mark Hadfield, Eugene O'Hare and Mark Curry.

Talent has original music and lyrics along with additional material, by Wood, and is designed by Roger Glossop, with lighting by Paul Anderson, sound by David Ogilvy and musical supervision by Nigel Lilley. It continues at the Chocolate Factory until 14 November 2009.
