1st Night Photos: Doctor in the House at Almeida

Date: 22 May 2009

New Doctor Who Matt Smith was among the guests at last night's premiere of Andrew Bovell's When the Rain Stops Falling at the Almeida Theatre (22 May 2009, previews from 14 May). Also in attendance was David Morrissey, seen recently at the Almeida in Neil LaBute’s In a Dark Dark House and at one stage believed to be one of Smith's competitors for the role of the Doctor.

Epic in scope, the action in When the Rain Stops Falling moves from the claustrophobia of a 1950s London flat to the coast of Southern Australia and finally into the heart of the Australian desert in 2039, weaving together a series of interconnected stories as seven people confront their mysteries of the past in order to understand their future.
