Show Pics: First Look at Orlando Bloom Celebration

Date: 12 July 2007

For those of you who can't wait for next week’s opening of In Celebration, here are a few production shots from the play, in which Pirates of the Caribbean actor Orlando Bloom makes his stage debut, to whet your appetite. Below you can scroll through the photos, which feature Bloom - with a new moustache he grew for the part – alongside co-stars Paul Hilton and Tim Healy.

David Storey’s play, premiered at the Royal Court in 1969, centres on three brothers – Andrew, Colin and Steven – who return home to their Northern roots for a family reunion. Although they’ve returned to celebrate, the complexities of family life and long-held grievances make a decent party unlikely.

After a clash of dates (See News, 2 Jul 2007), the opening night was moved from 12 to 16 July (previews from 5 July). The production at the West End's Duke of York’s Theatre is directed by Anna Mackmin. The cast also includes Lynda Baron, Gareth Farr, Dearbhla Molloy and Ciaran McIntyre. The production is presented by Sonia Friedman Productions, and continues its limited season until 15 September 2007.
