Wild Irish playwright George Roebuck arrives in London in 1698 with nothing in his pockets but his first play. His mission is to be the toast of Drury Lane, to seduce as many fine ladies as he can procure and then marry an heiress. But, unfortunately for him, he is pursued from Ireland by two young women who have other plans...

Rehearsed reading. Stella Feehily's adaptation of George Farquhar's first play reveals many of the qualities that characterise his later work and captures the genius of the often-considered father of Irish drama. Developed with students at LAMDA this new version of Love and a Bottle will be fully producd by Out of Joint in 2016.
