It's 2005. A south London couple - Lloyd and Marcia - go to visit Marcia's widowed aunt in Jamaica and Lloyd's sexual desires are provoked by an enchanting, homosexual Caribbean spirit called Tyri. A play which exposes the laws and injustices against homosexuality in Jamaica, August Town is a tale of lust, anguish and black magic, mixing poetical, religious and spiritual elements to result in serious repercussions for Marcia and Lloyd.
