Five Reasons to See … Trailer/Trash

Mike Elliston’s deep south comedy Trailer/Trash runs at the Hen and Chickens until 10 November 2012. Here, the company give us five good reasons to go…

1. Famous & Divine

Mike Elliston is an award winning writer (Edinburgh Fringe First) and Trailer/Trash is a collaboration with Famous & Divine, a recently formed UK company who also won Best in Show at the Houston Fringe in 2011.

2. The Budget
For a fringe production, it’s a big budget! We’re using a combination of on-stage dramatic action and film, some outrageous costumes, the exploration of day dreams and fantasies plus an amazing set that will transport you to a USA trailer park somewhere in the South.

3. The Play
It’s a comedy with a dark edge. Yes, it’s about ’trailer trash’ but there’s quick fired humour here, laced with tragedy, insults, bathos and pathos.

4. The Characters
They’re like two characters in a road trip movie carrying their bags around with them at all times with heaps of sub text. But the journey they’re about to take is more in their heads, played at all times without shame and always on the edge of rejection. How they triumph is a revelation.

5. The Ticket Price
It’s a recession. So we’ve kept our ticket costs to the bare minimum but our production values are high.
