School Musical
with a twist
With Zanna Don’t! and Forbidden Broadway both in town, another spoof musical is heading for the fringe to get us in the Edinburgh Festival mood. Gay School Musical – “the musical comedy in a league table of its own” – is at Above the Stage from 7 to 9 July 2009.

The new Victoria venue has also announced a short season of ‘summer cabaret’. John Jack’s What More Can I Say, featuring guest performers including Nicole Faraday, Tiffany Graves and Paddy Navin, is on the 20, 27 July and 3 August 2009.

Sleepless nights at the Cock Tavern
Lumenis Theatre Company’s production of Mary Mazzilli’s The Wrong Sleep, first seen at last year’s Camden Fringe Festival, will run at Kilburn’s Cock Tavern Theatre from 14 July to 1 August. The darkly surreal play tells the story of a woman plagued by insomnia in the aftermath of a terrorist explosion. During her sleepless nights violence and religion lure her towards committing acts of terrifying brutality.
