Five Reasons to See … Prophesy at Blackall Studios

Baz Productions is bringing Prophesy, a play set in the two contrasting worlds of Troy and Sparta, to the Blackall Studios. It runs from 5 February – 2 March.

Here the company give us five good reasons to go…

Fresh approaches to Classic Stories
Prophesy presents a contemporary re-imagining of the moments before the myths we recognise today. In setting not unlike modern Britain, come and witness the moments Helen and Paris receive the unexpected prophecies that determine their future and bring about the complete destruction of their worlds.

Inspired venues
Baz has developed a reputation for its powerful work in non-theatrical spaces. Not constrained by a traditional theatre space, performances are designed to live and breathe inside their spaces. In a building more used to art on canvas, we bring the gallery alive with our style of storytelling.

Spontaneous performances
Become an active spectator as actors deftly swap worlds and characters as they take you on their journey. Casting cross gender and developed through improvisation, our actors are trained to embrace the inevitable, playing games live on stage that ensure unique performances every evening.

Shoreditch vibes at affordable prices
In a vibrant and cutting edge part of town, treat yourself to a cheap night of live and devised theatre and enjoy a pre-show drink in our private bar. All from a dynamic company of unique theatre-makers that guarantees a surprising and refreshing evening.

It’s all Greek
Whether you know your myths or not, Prophesy weaves a tale of fate and freewill and stands alone as a story of self-identity in two separate worlds; linked only by the future they will one day share and the devastation they will wreak.
