Dream puts Bristol on world stage.

Dream puts Bristol on world stage.

Date: 6 January 2013

This spring, Bristol Old Vic promises to place British regional theatre firmly on the international map with a host of artistic heavyweights joining forces to create a new interpretation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Tom Morris and Handspring Puppet Company are reunited for the first time since War Horse, to begin a new journey in Bristol before touring throughout the world.

Speaking at the launch, back in December, Tom Morris said: “The international and collaborative nature of A Midsummer Night’s Dream supports the fact that the best of British regional theatre can work globally, independent of London, and that Bristol Old Vic is in the vanguard of this sea-change. It also reinforces Bristol Old Vic’s commitment to inviting world-class artists to create extraordinary work inspired by this theatre and this city”.

Rehearsals start 10 January. Watch this space for more news on this exciting production as it happens.
