Tom Daley dives into theatre with Lion King visit

Date: 15 August 2012

Tom Daley visits the cast of the Lion King

Olympic sensation Tom Daley swapped diving boards for treading the boards of the Lyceum theatre last night (14 August 2012) as he celebrated his recent bronze medal triumph with a performance of The Lion King.

After the show the celebrated athlete and his family were treated to a backstage tour, and got to meet and pose for photos with the cast.

The excitable swimmer later said, via his Facebook page, that he had an "Awesome night at the lion king!!! It was great to meet the cast" adding that the show "is a must see when you are in London!!!"

He has the right idea. And, because we like him so much, here's another one of Tom getting in the Olympic spirit...

Would I be alone in thinking that Tom Daley (a silver-medalist Olympic diver) and the Lion King (a multi-award-winning Disney dance musical) have absolutely nowt to do with one another? Why has he chosen to go there? Why bother? Why should anyone care? - JRshotMe
