Sarah Baxendale Steps Into Secrets at the Nick of TimeDate: 2 November 2009
Due to personal circumstances, Rachael Boulton has had to drop out of the Cock Tavern’s soon-to-open show, Secrets, at the last minute. She will be replaced by Hollyoaks actress, Sarah Baxendale, in the production which runs from 17 November to 5 December at the Kilburn theatre.
Secrets is a devised piece in which the eight cast members each reveal secrets from their own lives. These individual stories have been woven into a narrative by the dramaturg Hamish MacDougall; since the script is already completed, rather than drawing on aspects of her own life, Baxendale will take over Boulton’s ‘secret’.
Baxendale is best known for playing the role of Ellie Hunter on Hollyoaks between 2002 and 2005. Her bad girl character married serial killer Toby Mills and was subsequently disowned by her family. Since that time, Baxendale’s television work has included roles in Coronation Street and Doctors. Secrets will be Baxendale’s first stage appearance since HullTruck Theatre’s Wrestling Mad in 2005.
