Full Cast join The Hoff in Opera House PantoDate: 7 November 2012 As previously announced, David Hasselhoff, best known for the iconic roles of Michael Knight in Knight Rider and Mitch Buchanan in the most-watched TV show in history, Baywatch, will be starring as the ultimate ‘boo hiss’ baddie Captain Hook in this panto at the Manchester Opera House.
On making his Manchester panto debut, David said: “Get ready Manchester! The Hoff is coming for Christmas with his friend Peter Pan. I’ve been to Manchester before and fell in love with the city so I’m looking forward to spending some more time with the Mancunians.”
Joining The Hoff as the loveable Smee will be Tam Ryan, back for the third consecutive year following his hugely popular performance as Muddles in Snow White and Buttons in last year’s Cinderella.
Taking the title role is Amy Bird, who appeared as Wendy alongside The Hoff in Peter Pan in Wimbledon in 2010. Last year she played Peter Pan to Steve McFadden’s Hook in Woking. Her other theatre credits include Footloose, The Rocky Horror Show and Annie Get Your Gun.
Wendy is played by West End actress Lorna Want. Lorna’s many theatre appearances include Laura in Dreamboats and Petticoats (Playhouse), Gabriella in High School Musical (UK tour), Ariel in Footloose (UK tour and Novello), Monteen in Parade (Donmar) Mistress in Michael Grandage’s revival of Evita (Adelphi) and Young Cosette in Les Miserables.
The production is again written by Eric Potts. Peter Pan is a traditional family pantomime which features songs and audience participation.
Peter Pan is at the Manchester Opera House from 8 December - 13 January.
