Bolton Octagon's Little Voice Extends until 30 June

Date: 8 June 2012

Jim Cartwright’s classic The Rise and Fall of Little Voice is extending its run at the Octagon Theatre Bolton by one week due to popular demand. Originally due to finish on 23 June, this tender, funny and inspiring musical drama which includes the hits"Big Spender", "Over the Rainbow" and "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien" now runs until 30 June.

Taking on the role of Little Voice is Katie Elin-Salt, a Welsh actress who trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. A talented singer, Katie has appeared in numerous theatre productions, most recently Holly and Ivan's Christmas Adventure for the Hammersmith Lyric. Katie recently played Amy Edwards in the new Sky 1 series Stella that was broadcast earlier this year.

Currently playing the role of Mari, LV’s loud-mouthed mother, to rave reviews is Sue Devaney. She has played various roles on British television including; Debbie Webster in Coronation Street, Rita Briggs in Jonny Briggs, Liz Harker in Casualty and Jane in Dinnerladies. In 2009 she played the role of Peggy in hit Channel 4 drama Shameless.

Joining Katie and Sue in as Ray Say is Matt Healy, best known for his role as Matthew King in the television soap Emmerdale. A local actor who grew up in Oldham, Matt attended Oldham College and the University of Salford before pursuing his career as an actor.

Mr Boo is played by Max Beesley Snr, a familiar face from both TV and film, including Channel 4’s Shameless and BBC’s Outlaws and All the Small Things. His film work includes Desperate Measures, The Sleeper Effect and the Ken Loach film Looking for Eric.

The Rise and Fall of Little Voice is at the Bolton Octagon 30 June 2012.
