Gillian Taylforth Joins Sister, Kim in Girls Night, 5 June

Date: 8 May 2012

Girls Night, which follows five lifelong friends during a wild night out at a karaoke club, is at the Opera House, Manchester next month, starring sisters Gillian and Kim Taylforth, appearing together on stage for the first time.

Described as a down-to-earth musical comedy, the show sees the five friends remember the past, laugh, cry and belt out fabulous girlie anthems like "I Will Survive", "It’s Raining Men" and "Dancing Queen."

Kim says: “We've done TV together, but never as sisters, and we've never appeared on the same stage together. We are both so excited and can't wait for it all to start.”

The Taylforth sisters will be joined by Casualty’s Rebecca Wheatley  and all three actresses are looking forward to having fun together on stage and the show’s writer Louise Roche (who also wrote the popular TV series Where the Heart Is) thinks the cast is the perfect fit for her target audience "women of all ages looking for a good time."

Louise says “Gillian, Kim and Rebecca are actresses we’ve all grown up relating to on television, and I for one can’t wait to see them all live on stage. It’s going to be a riot.”

Girls Night is at the Manchester Opera House from 5 - 9 June.
